IMPORTANT: Read all tournament rules. Retain the pages of rules for
your reference.
- Be certain to specify your Entry Classification (Women or Open) at the
top of the entry form.
- You may submit your tournament entry via the Greater Miami USBC Association
Internet web site (www.miamibowling.org)
and pay your entry fees at the tournament site when you bowl.
- The regular entry closing date is Tuesday, March 2, 2010. The final
entry closing date is Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 12:00 Noon. Walk-in entries
will be accepted for each tournament squad based on lane availability. See
rule 24.
- Make check or money order payable to Greater Miami USBC Association.

Be watchful for conflicts between squad times, especially if you bowl
with more than one team or doubles.
See rule 17 for information on entry into the optional scratch
singles and doubles prize fund.

and team events.
All team entries will consist of four members.
Do not use nick names on entry form. Use names as shown on USBC
sanction card.
Please list each contestant’s Bowler ID Number. This can be found on
bowlers’ USBC sanction cards.
List contestants in the order they will bowl. Contestants must bowl
in the order listed on the entry form.
Proper attire must be worn. See rule 20.

GREATER MIAMI USBC ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT RULES
- This tournament shall abide by all USBC Tournament rules and
regulations. Failure to abide by the rules of this USBC is subject to
disqualification and forfeiture of entry fees.
- The tournament will be comprised of two separate classifications.
Women (women only) and Open (men or women). Bowlers will be competing
only against bowlers within their classification.
- The Tournament Secretary will draw lanes for all contestants in
every event.
- Handicap will be 90% of the difference between their legal average
and 230. Any contestant whose legal average is equal to or above 230
shall bowl scratch.
- Each classification will compete all in one division.
- ANY CONTESTANT WHO IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE GREATER MIAMI USBC
ASSOCIATION, MAY ENTER THIS TOURNAMENT UPON PAYMENT OF $8.00 LOCAL
MEMBERSHIP FEE AND HAS A VERIFIABLE AVERAGE.
- Contestants must use their highest 2008-2009 yearbook average in
every event. Any contestant not listed in the yearbook may present an
average of 21 games for the current winter season by having it certified
in writing by the league secretary and certifying this is the highest
average. Any contestant with neither of the above averages may present
their highest average of at least 21 games from summer, 2009. Any
contestant with a re-rated average from USBC must use that re-rated
average. Any contestant whose average cannot be verified will be
required to bowl scratch. IMPORTANT: PLEASE SEE RULE 9
- USBC rule 319d, reporting prior tournament prize winnings will be in
effect. Contestants must report winnings in writing in other tournaments
of $600.00 or more during the past 12 months. Failure to comply could
result in disqualification.
- USBC rule 319a-2, 10 pin or more increase in average by January 1,
2010, will be in effect. Contestants whose January 1, 2010 average is 10
or more pins higher than their yearbook average (rule 7) shall use the
January 1 average.
- It is the responsibility of the individual contestant to verify
his/her own average, whether submitted by him/her or the team captain.
If found to be incorrect, scores will be disqualified, if submitted
average is lower than actual average. If submitted average is higher
than actual average, the submitted average will be used. Corrections can
be made up to the completion of the first game of the first series.
- ALL CONTESTANTS ARE CAUTIONED TO BE AWARE OF THE RE-RATING
REQUIREMENTS OF USBC RULE 319E. This rule states bowlers who have
bowled in at least 21 tournament games during the past 12 months, and
have an accumulated average from those tournament games that is 15 or
more pins higher than the entering average (rule 8), must use the
accumulated tournament average. Bowlers are responsible for maintaining
records of their tournament averages. Failure to comply could result in
disqualification.
- Multiple entry in each event will be permitted. A contestant
entering the singles more than once may win only once, using the
highest score. The first singles score bowled shall count toward the
All Events score. Re-entry in the doubles event with the same partner
will be permitted. A contestant entering the doubles more than once may
win prize money for as many times as the doubles scores finish in the
money, but may win only once with the same partner. The first
doubles score bowled shall count toward the All Events. Re-entry in the
team event with the same four members will be permitted. The following
conditions will apply for multiple entries: a) All contestants must be
bonafide members of USBC; b) When a contestant competes more than once
in the four-member team event, the first score bowled shall count
towards the All Events score; c) A contestant may compete in the
four-member team event as many times as desired provided qualifications
under rule 7 are met; d) Contestants entering more than once may win for
as many times as the team scores finish in the money, but may win
only once with the same exact team.
- There will be no refund of fees after entry closing date. The
entrants whose names appear hereon or their authorized replacement
hereby agree that the Greater Miami USBC Association, its officers and
agents, shall be liable only to the extent of returning entry fees if
and when these entrants shall be prevented from bowling any event in the
tournament through delay, unexpected yet necessary schedule change, or
premature termination of the tournament which may be brought about by
war, national emergency or emergency causes relating thereto or
resulting therefrom, fire, strikes, lockouts, labor difficulties or
other reasons beyond the control of Greater Miami USBC Association.
Prize schedules will be prorated in accordance with the number of
entrants who have bowled in each respective event, up to the time of
termination.
- A contestant who enters the singles event must also enter the
doubles event. A contestant who enters the doubles event must also enter
the singles event, except when it is for a multiple doubles entry (see
rule 12). Doubles shall be bowled first, followed by singles. Singles
will be bowled on the same pair of lanes as doubles.
- All substitutes must be registered with and approved by the
Tournament Director before the scheduled bowling time. An approved
substitute utilized in this tournament shall be considered a bonafide
member of the team and shall share equally in the prize fund unless a
prior written agreement exists.
- Independent prize funds will be established for each handicap event.
Contestants must enter all handicap events to qualify for All Events
handicap prize. There shall be one prize for every six entries in each
event except All Events, where there shall be one prize for every ten
entries.
- A separate prize fund will be established for optional scratch
singles and doubles. Contestants may independently enter scratch singles
or scratch doubles, but for doubles, both doubles partners must enter.
Entry fee is an additional $10.00 per person per event. Scores bowled
will count toward both handicap and scratch. There shall be one prize
for every six entries.
- Awards will be awarded to the champions in each event in each
division. A bowler does not have to be entered in the optional All
Events to be eligible for the All Events Scratch award.
- There shall be no limit to the number of trophies and/or prize money
any individual or team may win in this tournament provided they have
qualified in accordance with the rules.
- SUITABLE ATTIRE MUST BE WORN WHILE COMPETING IN THIS TOURNAMENT.
KNEE-LENGTH SHORTS WILL BE PERMITTED. TANK TOPS OR HEADGEAR WILL NOT
BE PERMITTED. TOURNAMENT MANAGEMENT HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY TO
BOWLERS WHO ARE NOT PROPERLY DRESSED. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY
ENFORCED. (Note: anyone with a medical reason to wear headgear must
present a current physician’s note stating such).
- A bowler will be permitted one re-rack per game. Additional re-racks
must have approval of a tournament official.
- Only tournament officials, contestants and scorekeepers will be
permitted in the bowlers' circle.
- All contestants will be required to show USBC membership card at
tournament check-in.
- Walk-in entries will be accepted up until the start of the last
squad on March 14, 2010. Contestants wishing to enter as walk-ins on the
day of the tournament must register at least thirty minutes prior to the
squad time. Walk-in entries will be accepted only if lanes are
available. There are limited tournament lanes allotted for this
tournament. It is highly suggested that entries be submitted in advance
by the regular closing date to have the best chance of obtaining entry
into the tournament.
- Additional squads will be opened if there is enough
interest: Sunday, March 7, 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 14, 3:30 p.m.
